چکیده

Introduction: Enough scientific evidence is available on the harmful effects of air pollution health human beings, fauna, flora, and ecosystems in general. The mechanical electronical monitoring networks are first option for quality diagnosis, but they do not allow a direct precise assessment impacts living organisms that may result from exposure to pollutants. Objective: To evaluate changes composition corticulous lichen communities as response various stress factors areas with different levels diagnose state or intervention an area more complete option. Methods: Air contrasts richness coverage lichens factors, such land use distance roads, three biomonitoring areas, were using GIS, data presented easy-to-understand grey scale coded isoline map. Results: Indicators (R= -0.4) -0.7) inverse correlated PM2.5 concentrations each area. A total 110 species identified, being Phaeophyscia chloantha (Ach.) Moberg Physcia poncinsii Hue most frequent (present 38 33 % 86 sampled phorophytes, respectively). intra-area relationships exhibit significant regards roads (with correlations coefficients greater than 0.5) Simpson index was higher 0.9, places better conditions terms microenvironments, likewise resistance calculated suggest sensitive can be found environments lesser degree disturbance. Conclusion: These evaluations represent criteria elements diagnosis environmental areas.

Evaluation and Mapping Spatial Distribution of Copper Pollution in Soil and Water of Vineyard Garden

Background and objectives: The use of copper based fungicides is a crucial part of agricultural operations in vineyards, increasing productivity and crops. However, the long term application of fungicide could increase the copper concentration in the vineyard soils. Methods: In this study, soil and water chemical parameters including copper contamination, pH and EC as well as soil organic ...

Air pollution in a tropical city: the relationship between wind direction and lichen bio-indicators in San José, Costa Rica.

Lichens are good bio-indicators of air pollution, but in most tropical countries there are few studies on the subject; however, in the city of San José, Costa Rica, the relationship between air pollution and lichens has been studied for decades. In this article we evaluate the hypothesis that air pollution is lower where the wind enters the urban area (Northeast) and higher where it exits San J...

Noise pollution and its spatial distribution in urban environments (case study: Yazd city, Iran)

This study focuses on identifying source and frequency of noise pollution in Yazd, Iran. For data collection, we used two approaches: First we selected 55 monitoring stations for 122 km grid network; the distance between two stations was 2 km. Then, at the same time, we measured the sound pressure level (SPL) at main roads; the distance between two monitoring stations in this case was 1 km. Aft...

Spatial Distribution of Urban Air Pollution in Lanzhou, China

Urban air quality, and its variability in space and time, is a critical issue for human exposure and health related studies. In this work, we investigated the intra-urban distribution of SO2, NOx, NO2, Benzene, Toluene, and Xylenes in ambient air in one of the world’s most polluted cities, Lanzhou, China. Measurements were contemporarily carried out at forty locations in four seasonal campaigns...
